Volusia's Cultural Grant review meeting scheduled for September 22

The Cultural Council of Volusia County’s meeting to review applications for the fiscal year 2023-2024 Community Cultural Grant program, originally scheduled for July 28, has been rescheduled to 9 a.m. on Friday, September 22, in the county council chambers of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center at 123 W. Indiana Avenue in DeLand.

This meeting represents a significant opportunity for nonprofit organizations to secure funding for their cultural and artistic initiatives, further enriching the vibrant cultural landscape of Volusia County. 

Thirty nonprofit organizations will present their applications for funding during this pivotal gathering. Each of these organizations will get a brief opportunity to provide Cultural Council members with updates on their respective programs and address any questions posed by council members. The review process will proceed in alphabetical order.

The following nonprofit organizations have applied for the grant:

  4. Artists' Workshop of New Smyrna Beach
  5. Atlantic Center for the Arts
  6. IMAGES: A Festival of the Arts
  7. Daytona Beach Choral Society
  8. Daytona Beach Symphony Society
  9. Daytona Playhouse
  10. DeLand Naval Air Station
  11. Enterprise Preservation Society
  12. Fall Festival of the Arts, DeLand
  13. Florida Surf Film Festival
  14. Florida Wing, Commemorative Air Force
  15. Gateway Center for the Arts
  16. Halifax Historical Society
  17. Heritage Preservation Trust
  18. Hub on Canal
  19. Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach
  20. Mary S. Harrell Black Heritage Museum
  21. Museum of Art, DeLand
  22. Museum of Arts & Sciences
  23. Ormond Beach Historical Society
  24. Ormond Memorial Art Museum
  25. Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts
  26. Sands Theater Center
  27. Shoestring Theatre
  28. Southeast Volusia Historical Society
  29. USA Dance – Greater Daytona Chapter
  30. West Volusia Historical Society

 

Grant scores will be announced, but recommended award amounts will be brought before the Volusia County Council for final approval in October. Funding for this grant program comes from the Volusia County Government’s general fund allocation for cultural and heritage programs.
