Volusia County offers funding for Driver Education Programs.

The Community Assistance Division of Volusia County has recently announced that it is now accepting applications for financial assistance to support driver education safety programs in public and nonpublic schools.

The funding for these programs is made possible through fees collected by the Clerk of the Court, derived from civil traffic fines and penalties, per the Dori Slosberg Driver Education Safety Act. Qualified driver education programs must be available to all public and nonpublic schools with students in grades 9-12 that offer driver education instruction programs. They must also be available to homeschooled and private school students in grades 9-12.

Applications for the forthcoming fiscal year, from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, are now being accepted.
