Spring into DeBary Hall for Programs and Events this April
DeBary Hall Historic Site offers something for everyone this month...
Get Stepping with Line Dancing Lessons: 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, April 4 and 18. Line dancing is a great way to exercise your mind and body. Join DeBary Hall staff for a fun evening full of learning beginner line dances to various music genres. This program is recommended for adults. There is a $3 charge for each class and registration is required, call 386-668-3840 or email lperez@volusia.org to sign up.
Story Time at DeBary Hall: 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 5 and 19. Children are invited to Kids Corner, a free story time featuring stories, songs, and activities. The program is designed for preschoolers, but children of all ages are welcome.
Master Gardener: Garden Art: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. Join us for a fun gARTening program presented by Master Gardeners. During this hands-on session, you will learn how to use leaves, flowers, and rocks from your garden to make art you can share or keep. Each attendee will take home what you create!
Lemonade Lecture: Island War - The Fight Against Japan in WWII: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13. Most think of World War II as the fight against Hitler in Europe. In this presentation, you will learn about American adversity at places such as Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Guam, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Guests will have the opportunity to examine rare artifacts as they learn more about WWII in Japan. This presentation is part of the free Lemonade Lectures series sponsored by Volusia County. Light refreshments and lemonade will be served.
Lemonade Lecture: The Florida Scrub Jay: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20. Learn about the friendly Florida scrub jay with Joan Ferrell of Ferrell Outdoors. This presentation is part of the free Lemonade Lectures series sponsored by Volusia County. Light refreshments and lemonade will be served.
