Orange City motorcycle crash results in fatality and DUI arrest.

A tragic vehicle crash involving a motorcycle claimed the life of a Sanford resident on Saturday night. The Orange City Police and Fire Rescue swiftly responded to the scene near the N. Volusia Avenue/ W Minnesota Avenue intersection at approximately 10:49 p.m.
Preliminary investigations reveal that a 2023 silver 4-door Lexus was exiting the parking lot of Destination Orange City at 2400 N Volusia Avenue in Orange City and abruptly entered the northbound lanes of N. Volusia Avenue at around 10:46 p.m. Meanwhile, a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling in the same direction on the inside lane, and the two vehicles to collided, resulting in the ejection of the motorcycle operator.
Emergency personnel, including Orange City Police and Fire Rescue, arrived on the scene around 10:50 p.m. The motorcyclist, identified as 37-year-old Justin W. Evans of Sanford, was immediately transported to AdventHealth Fish Memorial Hospital. Tragically, despite the efforts of medical professionals, Evans was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The driver of the Lexus, identified as Christine T. Robison, emerged from the incident unharmed. However, authorities noticed signs of possible impairment in Robison's behavior. Subsequently, she underwent a DUI investigation, which led to her arrest for Driving Under the Influence and DUI Manslaughter. Robison is in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
