Looking for Funding for a Water Safety Program?

Volusia County’s Children and Families Advisory Board has received $55,000 in grant funds to support nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and schools that provide survival swim lessons to youth who live in Volusia County. The County’s Community Assistance Division will administer the grant program.

Applicants must have proven administrative capacity and at least one year of experience providing swimming lessons by a certified swim instructor. It is suggested that swimming lessons should be offered at a free or reduced rate for children ages six months to 12 years old, but this is not a requirement.

Reimbursement will be provided to approved providers after documentation has been submitted demonstrating that the funds were used for the intended purpose. The funds must be expended by Sept. 30.
