As part of the ongoing conservation and beautification initiatives along the picturesque Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail, Volusia County will host a free open house and workshop to educate the public and provide resources to preserve the natural beauty of the loop on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, located at 30 South Beach Street in Ormond Beach.
Attendees can listen to expert speakers provide information and resources to amplify the existing beauty of the loop and ensure its preservation while visiting with and learning more about each organization that is partnering with the county on this initiative.
According to a release, this workshop is sponsored by Volusia County's Regrow the Loop initiative, which was created by the County Council to enhance the 30-mile double loop of roadways through education, awareness, and collaboration. Volusia County, UF/IFAS Extension Volusia County, and other local organizations are collaborating to eradicate invasive plant species, increase native vegetation, attract more wildlife and pollinators, and bring about sustainability practices to those who care about the Loop.
Interested participants are required to register for the event. The registration form is accessible at https://tinyurl.com/32yj2jjy.
