To alleviate the extensive damage caused by coastal erosion due to Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has initiated the Hurricane Restoration Reimbursement Grant program. This program aims to allocate up to $100 million to qualifying coastal homeowners to aid in the restoration process.

The Hurricane Restoration Reimbursement Grant program offers reimbursement grants of up to $300,000 per parcel to eligible homeowners, with a 50% homeowner match requirement, to facilitate equitable distribution of funds and ensure a shared responsibility in the restoration efforts. The program deadline for applications is July 1, 2024.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to delve deeper into the program's specifics, including eligibility criteria and the application process, by consulting the Frequently Asked Questions section and the program overview on the program's website.

For additional information or assistance, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has made resources readily available. Interested individuals can access further details by visiting https://floridadep.gov/hurricaneor by reaching out to HRRGP@FloridaDEP.gov and contacting 850-245-8558.
