Volusia County Schools has announced that all students throughout the 2023-24 school year will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch, made possible by the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.

The CEP removes the collection of family income applications for free and reduced-price meals guaranteeing all students can access a wholesome breakfast and lunch each school day. All schools within the Volusia County school district qualify to operate under this provision, enabling them to offer these complimentary meals to their students.

In addition to the regular public schools, students attending Ivy Hawn Charter School, Pace Center for Girls, Richard Milburn Academy West, Richard Milburn Academy East, and AMIkids will also benefit from this program and receive their meals for free.

Families who receive direct certification (DC) and are enrolled in state assistance programs will continue to receive their eligibility letter for after-school care and voluntary prekindergarten benefits, ensuring that children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds receive comprehensive support beyond just meal provision.
