Carol and Jim Lawrence are Florida RE/MAX pioneers. They purchased their RE/MAX franchise in late 1984 when there were only 10 RE/MAX offices and 56 RE/MAX agents in the entire state. When considering their franchise purchase, Carol, especially, favored RE/MAX's business model wherein agents were responsible for their own business, could enjoy the benefits and support of a growing international franchise company, AND receive up to 95% of the commission! Today, there are hundreds of RE/MAX offices and more than 5,000 RE/MAX agents in Florida. In February, 2020, Jim and Carol observed the 35th anniversary of their RE/MAX franchise. It is the oldest RE/MAX office in central Florida and one of oldest in the entire state. Carol says it has been, and is, a joy to see and be a part of the RE/MAX evolution into the international real estate powerhouse that it is today. As RE/MAX says: Nobody in the world sells more real estate than RE/MAX. During their 35 years as RE/MAX broker/owners, Carol and Jim have witnessed and survived just about every type of real estate market imaginable: recessions, red-hot sellers' markets, short sale markets post-2008 when homeowners were forced to sell their homes or face foreclosure, and more. Throughout, they have continued to serve Volusia and Seminole county real estate sellers and buyers with the assistance of talented and loyal real estate associates. Three of their associates have been with the office for more than 25 years and all of their associates have prospered.
