ECHO Mandatory Workshop and Committee Meeting
The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) Advisory Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 11 in the County Council Chambers of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center in DeLand. The committee will review the updated Direct County Expenditure plan, ECHO Guidebook changes, and the additional grant cycle for 2024. Also, a presentation will be given about the Fairgrounds Master plan and the committee will elect a new chair and vice-chair at this meeting. The ECHO Grants-In-Aid program is kicking off the 2nd grant cycle in 2024 with a mandatory workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25 or all prospective applicants. You must attend the workshop to be eligible to apply. Applicants may attend in person or virtually. The in-person workshop will be held in the county council chambers on the second floor of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center. ECHO funding is awarded through a competitive application process and is for the acquisition, restoration, construction, or improvement of projects to be used for environmental, cultural, historical, and outdoor recreational purposes for public use.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporations, municipal governments within Volusia County, and departments of the Volusia County Government. Technical, or first draft, applications are due June 13.
