Crystal Apple Award Winners

Congratulations to the winners and nominees of the 11th annual Crystal Apple Awards Celebration hosted by the DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce. The Crystal Apple Awards celebrate and honor West Volusia educators, recognizing them for their excellence in preparing the future West Volusia workforce. Dr. Carmen Balgobin, Superintendent of Volusia County Schools, spoke to the audience about West Volusia's outstanding educators, and with the help of Jamie M. Haynes, School Board Member District 1, Volusia County Schools, greeted all 27 nominees. Also in attendance were Dr. Julio Nazario-Valle, Chief Academic Officer, Volusia County Schools; VCS principals, local community members, businesses, and local government officials.
