An Afternoon with Florida History: Conflict Comes to the Halifax

On February 24, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Root Family Museum of the Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS) in Daytona Beach, a presentation on Florida history will take attendees on a journey, guided by the expertise of Zach Zacharias, the Senior Curator of History at MOAS. The presentation will explore and unveil the profound impacts of diverse wars that once swept through the Halifax area.

From the significant Second Seminole War to clashes between Union and Confederate forces, and the enduring echoes of World War II, these pivotal conflicts have intricately woven themselves into the fabric of our local heritage. Follow the intricate narratives of these battles as they have imprinted landmarks and etched enduring scars across the remarkable canvas of the Halifax River Basin Region.
